Silo Bird Feeder by for.
The debut product for Pidt is the Silo Bird feeder by Helsinki-based Mika and Julie Tolvanen. With time and patience placed into studying the eating habits of birds using prototype feeders, the duo created the Silo to function as a grain silo.
The design of this feeder is uniquely tailored to feed bird species that cling vertically while eating. Depending on the location, this feeder will attract chickadees, titmice, nuthatches and woodpeckers. Due to the upright design, birds who prefer perches will not be attracted to this feeder.
To accompanythedietary needs of these breeds, the feeder holds sunflower seeds or peanuts. Sunflower seedswith a shellshould be used, especially in rainy or humid weather, to protect the sunflower hearts from moisture that can cause harmful bacteria.
Pidt is a studio dedicated to design for the circular economy. They achieve this through their bird feeder, crafted from 100% upcycled post-consumer waste.
The stainless steel hardware is certified as safe for toys, while the design allows easy assembly and disassembly. All parts can be separated and recycled, contributing to a more sustainable future.
