Inspired by the designer's grandfather who used to work as a miner in the north of England, the Ray Portable lamp takes reference from the old mining lamps. The name of the lamp is also derived from the abbreviation of the name of the designer's grandfather Raymond, as well asthe name being a play on light itself.

Designed for modularity and easy replacement of parts, the lamp is also fully waterproof. The portable lamp features a powder-coated metal body with aconvenient top handle making it easy to carry. Use it as a dining room or a living room light, the Ray portable lamp is a highly versatile lamp.

The light emits a soft, muted glow using an energy-efficient LED bulb and comes with three adjustable light settings.
